to be frank, I think a decent portion of the stock market has been a bubble since the mid-80s… and partially still is… mostly being propped up by overspending and irresponsible behavior from both consumers and companies…
lol… several people said that it’s been in a bubble since the 80s… this isn’t a new opinion…
but, people like making money, so they ignore it…
and bubbles are quite natural… it’s just managing and mitigating the damage that’s important…

The stock market was not in a bubble during Bush, but the Real Estate Market most certainly was. By ignoring and then thwarting Bush’s attempts to check the run away real estate sector Congress allowed it to collapse under it’s own weight thus taking the Stock Market down with it.

Stock market progress is often based on economic bubbles, it’s why we have recessions every few years. Some industry takes off, and since it’s big the stock market around it improves, until the bubble pops.

No – the bubble was in a specific investment vehicle – derivatives built out of home mortgages – and in home prices in some areas of the country.
